Remove local accounts and app data
Primail does not offer a Primail Cloud identity to delete. Cleanup is local: remove each mailbox, then uninstall the app if you want it off this Mac.
Remove mailboxes on this device
Section titled “Remove mailboxes on this device”For each account:
- Settings → Accounts → Remove or open the account and Log out.
- Confirm from the on-page summary that the row is gone.
That is the same path as Remove an email account. Provider mail stays on the provider. Local drafts and pending work for that account are destroyed.
Repeat on any other Mac that has its own local accounts. There is no all-devices checkbox.
There is no Settings → Privacy → Reset Primail… and no Delete cloud data… control.
Uninstall the app
Section titled “Uninstall the app”Finder → Applications → Primail → Move to Trash.
Keychain leftovers remain if an account was never removed first.
The ordinary macOS folder
~/Library/Application Support/Primail is the default
descriptor location, not always the selected cache. Resolution
uses, in order: an explicit override, PRIMAIL_DATA_DIR, the
selected runtime-profile.json (the file named by
PRIMAIL_PROFILE_CONFIG when that variable is set; otherwise the
descriptor in the default folder), then the platform default only
if no descriptor is selected.
To identify the selected data directory on this Mac, without copying anyone else’s path:
- If you launched CLI with
--data-diror setPRIMAIL_DATA_DIR, that path is the selected directory for those processes. - Otherwise open the descriptor JSON. Its
data_dirfield is the selected cache, search, and log directory. - If that descriptor is absent, the default Application Support folder itself is the selected directory.
The descriptor and other app preferences in the default folder are
not the same as the selected data directory. Deleting only the
default folder can leave cache, search, and logs at the selected
data_dir.
Quit every Primail GUI, primail, and primail-mcp process that
uses that profile before you optionally delete those files. Moving
files to Trash is ordinary deletion, not forensic erasure.
What is not deleted
Section titled “What is not deleted”- Messages, folders, and provider-side drafts at Gmail / iCloud / Microsoft / any other host
- Other devices’ local caches
- Provider DMARC or delivery logs
No cloud export
Section titled “No cloud export”There is no Request data export button and no 24-hour emailed archive of Primail Cloud state. Local diagnostics are Settings → Support (activity log, diagnostics export). Those exports are redacted operational files, not a GDPR cloud dump.
Support buttons
Section titled “Support buttons”Settings → Support has Help Center and email buttons. They are in-app links. This page does not promise a response time or a monitored address.
